Sticky keys when using ctrl+click on Mac

What happens:
The command "Use Item" remains active even after the release of the ctrl+click command. So torches keep getting placed, and upon selection of other items, they will get used too.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Set "Button 2" (ctrl+click) as "Use Item", in options > controls;

  • Place a torch. Release ctrl+click, and then move around. Torches will keep getting placed, as every selected item will get used.

Temporary fix: Open the pause screen, and close it.

I have the same problem using my MacBook Pro with a touchpad. First the ctrl-click was removed at 1.6 (how did that even happen?), and then when that issue is "fixed", we get another issue, also rendering the game unplayable.
I must say that I am kind of surprised. Surely there must be someone at Mojang testing the games with a MacBook Pro without mouse? Or is that configuration unthinkable?

Hey Mattias,
Unfortunately it is bound to happen to any OS X computer. I have tried it on both desktops (iMac) and laptops.
I agree that it's making the game unplayable. The only "fix" is to press esc every time you place a torch, which I can't tolerate anymore. Hopefully they're going to fix it as soon as possible.

This is happening to my MacBook too.

If it's any help, I also use the Java OSM editor and run into a sticky control key as well. I think the issue is triggered by the mouse leaving the window while the control-click is pushed, then it comes back in to the window.
