The Disable slot option counts as an item according to the comparator

According to the comparator, the disable option of the Crafter counts as an item (and the more you disable slots, the stronger the redstone signal gets)

The Comparator signal strength is 0-9, where each non-empty or toggled slot adds 1 strength

Please read the changelog before reporting this behavior as a bug.

Its not "works as intended". This type of comparator behavior is completely different from any other comparator behavior in game. It makes it harder and laggier to detect signal 9 than it is to detect signal strengths 15.
