Hardcore game over screen redirecting to multiplayer server select menu

I created a hardcore world to test my resource pack's custom language, but when I died, it showed the game over screen saying:

Disconnected by server
You have died. Game over, man. Game over!

Then I clicked the return button and it took me to the multiplayer menu.
