I was trying to jump off of a platform and bone meal a jungle sapling to land on the vines, but I missed, and used my bone meal on some nearby grass, but when I landed, I took no fall damage.

The bonemealing is unrelated, this is MC-212. The player isn't taking fall damage from reloading the world.

I could not reproduce this.
Followed the provided steps of falling from a height and bone-mealing a grass block below the player before hitting the ground.
EDIT: Someone else figured out the issue.
