When using bone meal on a sapling while running /tick sprint, you will glitch into a block

When using bone meal on a sapling that grows 1 block away from you (as in x or z coordinates, haven't tested on jungle so I do not know about y) you will be stuck in a block and unable to move, even if using /tp to get out, unless/until you stop the sprint/the sprint stops.

Please provide a video of the issue occuring.

How do I record videos on windows 11?

You may use the GameBar to record:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/learning-center/how-to-record-screen-windows-11,
or you may use video recording software such as OBS, which is free:
https://obsproject.com/

I can confirm this in 1.20.4 (although the tp command works as intended) and attached two videos: one demonstrating how this normally works (~20 TPS), the other demonstrating how this works while executing /tick sprint (~80 TPS).

Trees growing (or being bonemealed) into players is seen as Working as Intended behavior, as backed up by these issues: MC-137872 (bamboo), MC-74490 (tree logs), MC-85741 chorus plant, and MC-254240 (mangrove roots). The difference in behavior with the sapling sometimes pushing you downward vs not may be valid, but based off the previously listed issues it's not likely.

Other than that, the described behavior of even /tp not working for you to get out of the blocks is strange. Could you please elaborate on that more? As said in my last comment, a video would certainly be helpful, but additionally some more clear steps to consistently reproduce the issue would be great. The issue is already confirmed, but I feel as though there's still some missing information.

That isn't the bug I'm describing. The bug is where you would be placed near the edge of where a tree would grow, you bone meal it, and you get glitched into the block and cannot get out of the edge of said tree. This is more frequent with bonemeal but sometimes (rarely) happens naturally.

Resolving temporarily as Awaiting Response.

To make your bug report as effective as possible, please include the following steps to reproduce the problem (so that your report looks like the example given here):

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Observed Results:
(Briefly describe what happens)

Expected Results:
(Briefly describe what should happen)

You can also add a video showing all steps from creating a new world to reproducing the issue. If your video exceeds the file size limit, you can upload it elsewhere (e.g., OneDrive) and link it here.
