MC-270967

When placing sand blocks quickly before they fall, placing animation seems to skip from time to time.

When placing sand blocks before they fall, you notice that placing sand blocks quickly doesn't allow hand placing animation to commence.

How to reproduce

Start by obtaining a stack of sand blocks.

Then dig a hole as shown in the video and place 1 block to allow sand blocks to fall when placed.

Start placing sand blocks and you will notice that it skips placing animation from time to time.

Observations: Block placing animation seems to skip when placing sand blocks quickly.

Expectations: That shouldn't happen and it should place the blocks without skipping the animation.

This doesn't relate, but rather duplicates MC-129112 based off of other issues resolved into it, such as MC-133784

BugTracker

@unknown yeah true, but I believe MC-129112 differs from this report and MC-133784, the reason is because if you look at  MC-129112 it does mention the same bug/issue, but has completely different steps, and doesn't include gravity affected blocks like sand or gravel so its best if it relates. But I still do agree because it is the same issue. So it could be a duplicate as you mentioned.

Falling blocks are entities.

BugTracker

@unknown Yeah true, but MC-129112 mentions entities as in villagers or golems, which is why I believe it relates rather than duplicates, but I could be wrong.

See MC-189131, which is previously confirmed but resolved as a duplicate of MC-129112 later.

Falling sand is an entity, so this is the same as MC-129112, even if that bug report doesn't specifically highlight falling sand. Also note that some of the duplicates of MC-129112 already describe this exact issue with falling sand.

(If MC-129112 ends up being fixed but this is still an issue for falling sand, you can of course create a new bug report then, but in the meantime it makes more sense to just track it in one bug report)
