Minecraft server reimplementation with JBoss technologies

Sorry for misusing issue tracker, I didn't find more sensible way to contact you.

Briefly: I am considering $subj as a thesis topic.
Technologies like Infinispan, HornetQ and Netty are a good match for things like MMO Minecraft. From what I've seen, current implementation doesn't scale well, and 100+ players on one server turn it into a turn-based game, no matter how fast the hw is.

What are you thoughts? Would you support such research?
