Nether Portal Return

Working on a solo world and just made a portal in the middle of a field on a normal size hill. no issues going into the portal until i tried to return.

I should of retuned right back to where i made the portal on the hill next to my house/base But...

Once loading back in I entered a different area in the bottom of the map in a cave. I am now lost in a cave have no idea why i got transported to a extremely diferent area and coordinates.  I lost my area and cannot return to the house ive spent HOURS on

Ive had this issue in the past and i can't believe it hasn't been fixed... I deleted my world and tried another one and has the exact same issue. If this isn't resolved i would like to have my money back, unplayable for i need the nether portal for items to beat the ender dragon.

Please fix this issue!!!!!
