[MC-2747] Minecraft client crashs when connection times out

Minecraft crashs when attempting to join a listed server, that has had the IP Change.

Current testing has only been conducted in a LAN environment.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
