Breaking tripwire with shears doesn't put it in the disarmed state

When you break a string attached to a pair of tripwire hooks, it doesn't set its state to disarmed, and breaks the string entirely. This feature is falsely claimed to be a bug in this bug report: MC-129055 This breaks an intended feature by notch, where disarming string makes the tripwire not send any redstone signal.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Place string in between two tripwire hooks facing each other, they should connect

  2. Using shears, left click on the string you just placed down

  3. The string will break, instead of going into the disarmed state

Its a duplication Glitch ?

No, it is not a duplication glitch. It was used with one, but the duplication glitch has been patched now. However, this functionality has wrongly been patched as a bug, even though it isn't.

Is there any basis for thinking this is intended? It was part of a bug in MC-59471.

No, you are wrong. This was not a part of bug MC-59471 at all, if you look at the bug report, it isn't mentioned anywhere.

Please do not mark this bug as invalid, it is not. This bug causes tripwires to be impossible to be put into the disarmed state, and should be actually fixed instead of being marked invalid.
