Redstone Torches and Blocks Give the Same Amount of Power to Rails

The amount of power a redstone torch gives to a length of rails extends to 9 blocks in one direction. A redstone block does not extend this, as it would with redstone dust.

No, they update all right, they just don't get any more power from the redstone block than the torch. Is that intentional?

If you're placing a redstone block next to a powered rail that is already powered by a redstone torch and the range of activated powered rails isn't increasing, that is MC-957. If that doesn't describe your issue, then please record a video of this happening and attach it to this report.
If you are on Windows, you can use Windows+Alt+R to open a built-in app for recording game footage.
