Big Trees become generic small spherical trees.

When making big trees with plugins or custom terrain generators, sometimes big trees show up as a very small spherical tree.
This seems to be an issue with vanilla code, as plugins only ask for the big tree from the vanilla code (unless I'm mistaken).

Well that means it is a plugin issue, not a minecraft issue.

I've been told by the plugin developers that it is a vanilla generation issue, and there is nothing they can do to fix the problem. Apparently their plugins only call on the "big tree" in the vanilla code and when it responds, it responds with derp tree.
