Pixels not lining up between full blocks and non-full blocks

The textures of blocks do not line up with the models of non-full blocks such as the grindstone, walls, fences, levers, piston heads, flower pots, decorated pots, cauldrons, buttons, etc. leading to times when you can see parts of a texture that should be obscured entirely through the seam between the two blocks which should not happen ever.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Download and use the attached texture pack:

[media]
  1. Place down a glowstone block, with a cobblestone wall above it

  2. Look closely at where the glowstone and cobblestone blocks meet

  3. Replace the wall with different non-solid blocks

This issue can also be observed without a resource pack by simply placing a non-solid block (like a flower pot, or button) on top of or next to a full block, and observing where the two meet.

Observed & Expected:

Where the wall and glowstone meet, there is a visible line where you can see the glowstone which should be occluded by the wall (because it is on top of it). It is expected that you could not see any bit of the glowstone which is covered by the wall.

Isn't this just the same issue as MC-252256?

yeah i suppose it is roughly the same, i didn't notice that when i checked for any similar reports, but i think this issue being repeatedly reported as many times as it has been should be a sign that this is important enough, to enough different players, that it should at least be Reconsidered, even if it won't be fixed with utmost haste and priority (which i don't believe it should, i don't think this is something that even Can be fixed fast or without a rewrite of how textures are handled).
i'm personally not planning on doing any in-world custom models because i don't know if i can actually make the textures line up properly without compensating for the issue by making every piece out of individual 2x2 cubes, others might be in the same or roughly similar situations, not thinking it's worth it to work on things that will go in the world because they likely won't line up with textures as well as they should.
