Probably a duplicate since it's been in the game for a while but I couldn't find the report after searching.
When boats are in a 1 block high downward bubble column (from magma blocks), it'll sink but continue to rock back and forth. This is unlike the behaviour of taller bubble columns where the boat becomes stationary after sinking.
