Whenever I try to go full screen in Minecraft Java Edition, the screen freezes but the game keeps working, if I try to go back to windowed mode the screen is still frozen. And in older versions Minecraft crashes.

I couldn't replicate this. Both F11 and the Video Settings option work with no issue.
