@Kumasasa: I believe that was me; I committed "Sponge" back into the translation and reported the abuse.
Honestly, I am surprised such an obviously abusive translation made it into the release of a widely played game. I am tempted to just file another bug report or feature request regarding user-submitted translations, to suggest that they at least be checked out before being committed.
I have to comment also, Crowdin is a seriously awkwardly designed tool. It took me a while to figure it out and the only indication on this bug-tracker that translation issues are to be fixed on Crowdin are on such issues' comments themselves.
Could at least any of this be looked into?
Roy: According to a Reddit thread of the same discussion, no one has a clue as to how it got passed. The approved languages are the most upvoted ones, and are then sent to a supervisor for approval.
There are sometimes flukes in the system, like the racial slur that appeared in Afrikaans several versions ago, but they happen rarely.
The user who suggested the translation has been identified (I can tell that much) and he will probably be dealt with.
This ticket is a language translation change/add request and is currently not supported on this bug tracker.
Please use the Crowdin Minecraft Translation Project for all translation change/add requests.
