I was messing around with anvils and had like 10 stacked up next to each other, then I placed cake underneath the bottom one and every anvil broke on contact with the cake kind of like sand with torches
I would've thought the cake would dissapear
Anvils break other things when dropped on them like torches
The cake destroyed every anvil
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Stack a bunch of anvils on top of each other vertically
2. break bottom anvil and place cake underneath
3. Watch all of the anvils break

When an anvil is dropped on something like a torch the anvil will normally destroy the torch, it destroys most non-solid blocks except cake so I believe this is a bug
No, it doesn't read this: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Anvil
"When an anvil lands on a non-solid block like a torch or rail, or on a flower pot, it will destroy that item instead of dropping it. When an anvil is dropped on a pressure plate, a boat, cobwebs, a slab, a sign, a cake, a lily pad, closed trapdoor that doesn't have a block beneath or opened fence gate, the anvil itself will drop as an item. When dropped on a trophy head decoration, the head is dropped as an item."
I think this is working as intended because falling block entities break when they touch most non-solid blocks
