Logging in on SMP sometimes causes the player to be in the ground.
What I expected to happen was...:
When I log in, I am standing on a block
What actually happened was...:
When I logged in, I was in a block (but not suffocating)

I was just standing on grass. It also happened once when I logged into a server for the first time.

Got the same issue on a 800ms ping server

Added three screenshots.
First after logging on at y=62
Second after jumping once at y=63
Third after jumping again at y=64

Server is vanilla 1.4.4, world created in 1.4.2, PVP disabled, not suffocating while spawned in the ground

Attached the ping time and spawning above the void, but not falling into it
