Crash when joining ANY server

I opened up the new minecraft launcher, chose my profile, and started the game as usual. When I went to multiplayer, and clicked join server, I was waiting for approx. 5 mins at the screen that says "Logging in" with a cancel button at the bottom. After this long, I decided to click cancel. But, when I tried to do this, the game stopped responding. When I closed the game, the launcher popped up and gave me this error code. (exit code -805306369).
I then opened the launcher again, and tried to join a different server. The same issue with the same error code happened every time. I thought it may be a corrupted file or something similar, so I completely deleted my .minecraft folder, and the launcher. I re-downloaded the launcher, and ran it as usual, but when I tried to join a server again, The same issue occurred with the same error code.
