Ancient Java! Please update your Java to the latest version: http://www.java.com/en/download/ .
When using a 32-bit browser on a 64-bit operating system the automatic version detection will only show the 32-bit version of Java, the 64-bit version needs to be downloaded manually: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp .

I did update my Java and it still had the same issues
But when the world attempted to load, I briefly saw an absurd amount of pigs wandering around
Lemme guess, Mob lag...

Corrupted world files.
Load the world in MCEdit, delete all the entities, search for hole in the world and fix it.
If you can't manage that, let your world file repair here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/137381-official-corrupted-save-recovery-thread/

Thanks, took a look around in MCEDIT a while ago, glad the world isn't damaged... other than the world hole outside one of my homes.
Anyway, this world means a lot to me (As in 1.061 Alpha, which means it's very old) and I'm glad you could come up with some sort of resolution.
Thanks again!
