the custom_name tag does not recognize the games original names on items (it did in RC-3 and previous snapshots) so if a resource pack would apply a flame overlay on a sword you apply fire_aspect to and using the custom_name tag at the same time it won’t change intill you rename the sword and then rename it to the original name again.
the screenshot shows the code, it works flawless on the “Diamond Sword Amethyst” as it is a renamed sword, but won’t work on the unnamed “Diamond Sword” intill i rename it to something else and then give it the original name again!
