While holding the wildflower item, you can clearly notice floating flowers. Especially when you compare them to the pink petals, the error is obvious. For further information see the attached pictures.

…can confirm, but this is surely intended. Even with pink petals, you can notice that the bottom flowers are floating if you go into third-person mode, or punch with the tick rate turned down.
