On Tuxedo OS 24.04 download the debian installer
Install the deb
Launch Minecraft Launcher, everything is fine and everything is downloaded correctly
Play the game for as long as you want
Here is the faulty part (I guess) ; quit the game, either by using alt+f4 or from the ingame menu
Now, if you try to launch the Minecraft launcher again, it fails and display the error message: βWhoops! An unexpected issue occured; we are sorry for the inconvenience. Please try restarting your launcher.β
The only temporary fix is to delete everything except the saves folder, and redownload everything, every single time.
Additionnaly, I see in the log that:
some servers are unaccessible (for instance vortex.data.microsoft.com and https://sentry.io/api/2703928/store/) and are generating HUGE logs (gygabytes). Might this be related?
the app tries to read the $HOME/.minecraft/launcher_prefs.json file, but itβs never created in the first place
It baffles me that this app cannot survive a single close action.
Iβm attaching the log (zipped, because there are a log of repeated lines).
Would you know how to fix that permanently?
Environment
TUXEDO OS (based on Ubuntu, itself based on Debian) 24.04
Java openjdk 21.0.7 2025-04-15
