Translucent blocks near the player are not sorted correctly for a brief moment after toggling the perspective

This issue has been present in its current form since 19w39a, with similar unexpected behavior occurring even before.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a Superflat world with the following preset:

    white_wool,blue_stained_glass,green_stained_glass,red_stained_glass
  2. Set your frame rate to 10 fps so that the issue is visible for longer.

  3. Press F3 a couple of times to toggle your perspective.

Observed behavior

In the vicinity of the player, the blue stained glass and green stained glass blocks will not be rendered behind the red stained glass blocks for a brief moment after toggling the perspective.

Expected behavior

The aforementioned blocks would be rendered directly after toggling the perspective.

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.

Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
