I usually get 200+ FPS. But when I travel far away (5000+ blocks) with elytra wings, my FPS drops to less than 30 and never recovers even if I stop moving.
Changing the render distance or restarting the game fixes the issue usually.
This is not a normal fps drop because I’m loading / generating chunks. I’m used to that. It’s more than an FPS drop. The debug menu says 30 or less but it feels more like it freezes every second or so. I attached a video showing the stuttering.
Hardware: Ryzen 7 9800x3D, 64GB of ram at 6400mhz, RTX 3080 GPU. Game installed on a gen 4 m.2 SSD.
Environment
Vanilla 1.21.6.
World was started in 1.21.1.

Hello,
Thank you for your report! I have quite a few questions and things for you to try🙂
Could you try if your issue still occurs in 1.21.7 Release Candidate 2?
If it continues to happen, could you try increasing the allocated memory, for example to 3GB or 4GB and see if the issue still occurs? (I copied some instructions at the bottom of my message on how to do that, incase it is needed)
If it is still happening, can you try a different world and see if it happens in different worlds as well? If not, would be great if you could add a world download as well.
Instructions for increasing the allocated memory:
Step 1 - Open the Launcher.
Step 2 - Click the 'installations' button
Step 3 - Choose the profile you want to allocate more RAM to (e.g. Latest Release)
Step 4 - Click the 'more options' button
Step 5 - You will see alot of text, only concentrate on the first line saying -Xmx2G
Step 6 - Replace '2G' with how much RAM you want to allocate (e.g. "4G" = 4GB of RAM allocated)
Well I tried 1.21.7-rc2 and I can’t seem to reproduce the bug (It was pretty consistent), So it seems like it’s fixed !
For the record I tried a different world in 1.21.6 and it was still happening.
I didn’t get around to try increasing the ram since 1.21.7 seems to have fixed it. I’ll just wait until it’s released.
Thanks for the help, I appreciate it 🙂 You can close this ticket.
Cheers
