When I try to load in my minecraft world it stops at 'loading terrain' and then the game crashes.

I'm stuck on loading terrain too my game hasn't crashed though but it got stuck on the loading screen for over an hour before I quit and tried again. I tried turning down all my resolutions and graphics and the game loaded but was super glitchy and my inventory disappeared before my pause also disappeared. It happened repeatedly before i gave up
