copper golem does not look in chests above its y level

• environment

  • double chests stacked 3 blocks high, filled with items that are also in the copper chest

• expected result

  • copper golems holding items that match the items in chests above them, will place them in the matching chest up to 8 blocks above them

• actual result

  • copper golems holding items that belong in the chests above them do not search the chests above them (in the radius), and are stuck holding those items that should be able to be sorted

did attempt to create a platform for them to walk on to access the chests but they would not go in 1 block gaps even though I could trap one in a 1x1x1 area
