I set up a double chest with a comparator reading off of it. There is a redstone torch that is locking the hopper beneath the chest. The comparator leads to a repeater that sends a pulse to disable the redstone torch. (this is similar to the impulse sorting system). I preload the chest with the types and number of items that I want the golem to place in the chest so as to get the redstone signal to one item shy of the signal strength needed to unlock the hopper. The problem is that when a copper golem loads the chest, the redstone appears to not read a change in signal strength. However, when I remove and replace the items the golem just put in, the signal strength changes, and it works fine. I'm not a redstone expert but can't seem to figure out why. please forgive me if you can't seem to duplicate this issue as I fully admit I may be doing something wrong on my end.

I duplicated this. For some reason it did work with the chest item, redstone torches, and comparators. It may work with others.
