Sharpness enchantments Does Not Increase Displayed Attack Damage on diamond sword

Between the Minecraft versions 1.21 and 1.21.8, the Sharpness V enchantment does not increase the displayed damage value of diamond swords in the inventory. The actual damage dealt to mobs is correct.
Environment
Java edition 1.21 to 1.21.8 vallina with zulu21 or zulu 24, windows11, 23H2, tried on two computers.
