Apologies for this inconvenience, with the attached screens I assumed that held item was a default empty map. I’ll reopen the ticket.

This happens when there isn’t a buried treasure nearby for the map to lead to. It's more of a failsafe than a bug, even if it is extremely disappointing to run into.

We're already tracking this issue at MC-218156, so I will resolve and link this ticket as a Duplicate. 

I suggest also to browse through the main issue for potential fixes. 

If you would like to add a vote and any extra information to the main ticket it would be appreciated.
