Visual Glitch: Gravity-Affected Blocks (Sand) Render Incorrectly on Powered Rails

Summary
In Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.8, a visual rendering error occurs when gravity-affected blocks (sand, gravel, etc.) are placed on active powered rails. The block's texture appears misaligned from its actual hitbox, creating a visually broken appearance while maintaining normal functionality.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Place any solid block (e.g., dirt) as a base

  2. Place a powered rail on top of the base block

  3. Power the rail using any redstone source (lever, redstone torch, etc.)

  4. Place any gravity-affected block (sand, gravel, concrete powder) on the active powered rail

  5. Observe the visual misalignment of the placed block

Expected Result
The block should render centered and flush with the powered rail's surface, with visual model matching collision hitbox.

Actual Result
The block renders visually offset (appears to float/misalign) while maintaining correct collision hitbox in its proper position. This creates a discrepancy between visual appearance and actual block interaction.

Additional Information

  • Minecraft Version: 1.21.8

  • Operating System: Windows 11 24H2 (OS Build 26100.4652)

  • Mods: Vanilla client - no mods or resource packs installed

  • Notes:

    • Purely visual bug - physics and functionality remain intact

    • Only occurs on active powered rails

    • 100% reproducible under described conditions

    • Recommend comparing with unpowered rail state for reference
