Jumping off the edge of a block does not increase the jump statistic

I’ve found that jumping off the edge of a block so you’re actually slightly off the block already does not increase the jump statistic, even though the player clearly jumps.

The easiest way to reproduce this is to sneak to the edge of a block by strafing sideways, then press a (or d) and jump immediately after. It may take a few attempts. I’ve attached a video recording
