Minecraft crashes with a dialog reporting a GLFW error 65544

Starting with version 1.20.2, minecraft crashes with a GLFW error 65544 when running on a parallels windows 11 virtual machine running on Apple Silicon. I think this is your issue, because it’s your dialog and the issue doesn’t seem to be parallels, because minecraft runs fine when using Linux VM running in parallels. So, most likely, the issue is either with your app, or Microsoft Windows 11. The problem can be worked around by installing a opengl32.dll which implements a software driver in the java bin directory, but Microsoft provides an “OPenCL, OpenGL and Vulkan Compatibility Pack” that provides software drivers specifically for this purpose and so doing this should be unnecessary.

Environment

Windows 11 Arm running in a VM under Parallels 26.0.1 on a MacBook Pro M4 Max running Tahoe 26.0

You are trying to play the game on a VM, and that VM does not have the correct graphics drivers. Installing the correct graphic drivers will resolve this issue. Downloading a random ‘opengl32.dll’ from the internet is not a safe solution.
