In the event of having stairs come out and turn back in a U-turn fashion, one of the inner stairs will be the wrong block model instead of the corner it should be.

However, this issue is Working as Intended.
Stairs placement in based on faced direction and surrounding block states.
Please note, that mechanics of the game may change between updates.
Things such as graphics, sounds, world creation, biomes, redstone, villagers, and animals may not work the same in current versions.
