I tamed a cat (the last of the 11) and was trying to get it back to my base via nether travel. Upon pushing the unleashed, but tamed cat through, the cat disappeared. The portal on the other side was already built, and connected to the one made in the Overworld. Both above and below the nether roof were checked, with the cat being nowhere to be found. Replicated the scenario with the same result the second time.

Weird. I tried this on the latest snapshot and nothing happened. I pushed in a sitting cat and a walking cat (both tamed btw) and both of them didn’t disappear.
I couldn’t reproduce this. Please upload a video recording of the issue with the debug overlay (F3) enabled and showing the game version. You can record your screen using:
On Windows, the built-in Snipping Tool app (shift+win+S)
On macOS, the the built-in Screenshot app (shift+cmd+5)
Third-party software such as OBS
It is recommended that you trim, convert and/or reduce the quality of your recording so that it is under 10MB, as this will make the upload much quicker.
