Incorrect shading of the Java block/item model elements

Bug description: the shading does not use cube rotation, so an element with a rotation of 0 and with a rotation of 45 degrees will have the same face shading.

Examples:

Resource Pack with two models is attached to the bug report.

  • The first model rotates the elements closer to the sides (42.5 degrees).

  • The second model rotates the elements closer to the upper face (42.5 degrees).

2025-12-09_13.32.56.png

Expected behavior:

  • Rotated elements have an average shade between the upper and side faces

Current behavior:

  • Rotated elements have the same shade as a element without rotation.

Repetition steps:

  1. Download and enable the attached Resource Pack;

  2. Run the command to summon the item_display with the first model:
    /summon item_display ~ ~ ~ {item:{id:"stick",components:{"item_model":"test_model_shading:test1"}}};

  3. Run the command to summon the item_display with the second model:
    /summon item_display ~ ~ ~ {item:{id:"stick",components:{"item_model":"test_model_shading:test2"}}};

  4. Compare the shading of elements whose difference is 5 degrees.
