I am playing on Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11 (Vanilla).
When I located an End City, I noticed that the banners generated on the exterior of the towers are displaying the "missing texture" (purple and black checkerboard).
Additional Context:
I attempted to reload resources using F3 + T, but it had no effect on the missing textures.
This is my first time visiting an End City, so I cannot confirm if this issue existed in previous versions or exactly what the correct texture should look like, but the purple/black checkerboard is clearly unintended.
The issue affects both the placed block and the item in the inventory. The item icon for the banner also displays as the flat purple/black missing texture.
Banner details from tooltip:
Magenta Banner
Black Inverted Chevron
Black Chevron
Steps to Reproduce
Launch Minecraft 1.21.11.
Go to the End dimension and find an End City.
Look at the banners hanging on the outside walls of the city towers.
Observe that the banners are rendered with a purple and black checkerboard texture.
Expected Result
The banners should correctly display the magenta base with black chevron patterns.
Actual Result
The placed banners on the End City walls are missing their textures and show the purple/black glitch.
Environment
OS: Windows
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U
GPU: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics (OpenGL 3.3.0)
No mods or resource packs installed.
Correction regarding the item texture: In the description, I stated that the item icon appeared correct in the inventory. This was incorrect. Upon further inspection, the item icon itself also displays the missing texture (purple/black checkerboard), just like the placed block.
