Detector rail incorrect timings

I discovered this while using a T junction on my rail system. Currently I use a detector rail which when activated sends a delayed signal down multiple repeaters. If I place a minecart onto the detetor rail itself, this works as intended.

However if I ride or send a minecart travelling across the detector rail this signal is transmitted instantly regardless of the amount of repeaters used to delay the signal.
