When the entities (player, mobs, items…) are above non-full blocks (for example slabs, stairs…) with Entity Shadows option turned on, their shadows are not displayed at all, even on even surfaces such as upper slabs, upside-down stairs shown in the next pictures. The differences can be seen compared to a full block, showcasing the intented behaviour. This is a very minor bug that doesn’t affect the gameplay at all.
Environment
Steps to execute the bug:
1) Turn on the Entity Shadow option
2) Place a slab/upside-down stair or other non-full block (chest etc.) for comparison
3) Place besides the non-full block a full block (example birch plank)
4) Walk on them to observe the differences, the working as intented shadow on the plank versus the absent shadow on the stair
Picture 1: Dropped jacked potato item in between the full birch plank block on the right and the upper stone half slab block. The differences on the shadows can be observed , on the left not being visible and on the right being visible.
Picture 2: Player standing between the forementioned plank, slab and an upside-down cobblestone stair block. The latter two do not have the shadows of the player, while the plank still has it.
Picture 3: Same as picture 2 but from a different point of view.
Picture 4: Video settings that were used for executing the bug
