Shift + Left Click does not transfer items between inventory and chest

When attempting to move items using Shift + Left Click, items do not transfer between the player inventory and a chest. This affects both full stacks and single items. This happens in both survival and creative mode.

Normally, Shift + Left Click should instantly move the selected item stack:

From inventory → chest

From chest → inventory

However, nothing happens when this input is used. This is making gameplay way more difficult

Steps to reproduce the issue

Open Minecraft Java Edition

Join any world (Singleplayer or Multiplayer)

Open a chest

Hover over any item (single item or full stack)

Press Shift + Left Click

Expected Result

The item or item stack should instantly move between the chest and the player inventory.

Actual Result

The item does not move at all. Shift + Left Click has no effect.
