Doors placed will copy the rotation of any half that has had its rotation changed since the last tick. This applies even if the half is a different type of door placed with the command /setblock, it will default the new door type to the previous type of door.

Things such as graphics, sounds, world creation, biomes, redstone, villagers, and animals may not work the same in current versions.
