The menu text not showing

I want to play on the newest version, but when I launch the game there is no text on any buttons in the menu (look at the attached photo). I cannot join a server and when I open a single player world there still is no text showing up, even the item names aren’t visible. Everything works on past versions, my other games work as well so it isn’t an issue with my computer and I also don’t use mods so it’s just vanilla game. Because of this I cannot play on the newest update and enjoy the new features.

UPDATE: I figured it out myself.
