In Minecraft: Java Edition 26.1, when the player submerges underwater, the oxygen bubbles that show above the hunger bar show normally. When the player is fully out of the water (on land, no raining), the oxygen bubbles do not reset back to 10 and stay showing on-screen. As a result, when going back into the water, the bubbles stay the same and the player proceeds to take drowning damage, even though it has spent enough time out of the water. This bug can be found on the Windows 11 Home operating system (I don’t know if that makes a difference) running the latest official release of Minecraft Java 26.1, with no mods, shaders, resource packs or other programs that modify the game’s core functionality, nor any Respiration-enchanted armor. As usual, it is expected that the oxygen bubbles reset back to 10 when out of the water and function normally when in said water, but again, the oxygen bubbles stay at the same low state and do not run back up when out of the water.
Environment
12 GB of RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 5600G processor, Windows 11 Home running Minecraft Java edition 26.1
