In a datapack, if you try to split a timeline file into multiple files, only the files named the same as vanilla will be used, removing a value in a vanilla file and placing it in a separate file will just remove the expected behavior from the game.
(tested with "minecraft:visual/sky_color" and "minecraft:gameplay/surface_slime_spawn_chance")
examples :
removing "minecraft:visual/sky_color" from the “day” timeline and creating a new “sky_color” timeline with the exact same values used in the original “day” timeline will remove the sky color instead of using the values in “sky_color” (more noticeable at night)
removing "minecraft:gameplay/surface_slime_spawn_chance" from the “moon” timeline and creating a new “slime_spawn” timeline with the exact same values used in the original “moon” timeline will prevent all surface slime spawns instead of using the values in “slime_spawn”
