Using any sort of Mineral in a Beacon does not increase its Times Used statistic, despite consuming the item.
Steps to reproduce:
Create a scoreboard to track Times Used statistics of whatever mineral is compatible with powering the Beacon by using the commands provided below
/scoreboard objective add UseEmerald minecraft.used:minecraft.emerald/scoreboard objective setdisplay sidebar UseEmeraldConstruct the smallest Beacon possible and get an Emerald
Power the Beacon by using an Emerald, which will give you one of the effects you have chosen
Observed Behaviour:
The scoreboard does not increase.
Expected Behaviour:
The scoreboard would increase since the item got directly consumed. The Times Used statistic for the beacon does not increase either.
I would also advise to revisit MC-298275. A new block called the Shelf got added recently, and putting an item into a Shelf is of the same value as putting it into a Decorated Pot. Yet a report for statistics not increasing when using the Shelf got marked as “Works As Intended” (MC-302587, comments section). It stands to reason that the Times Used statistic would increase when the item is actually consumed (composting, dying a sign, etc.) or changes its state (emptying a bucket into a cauldron, etc.) and not when an item is simply stored in a different place (MC-298275, MC-256481).
Environment
Everything was done on vanilla instances
