Small sulfur cubes can phase through blocks when growing up

I have this problem in 26.2 also. I brought cubes back to base, and made a ball pit for them. Tried to split the ones I brought back to get more. They clip into surrounding blocks - on the sides, and below - at the moment they grow up and then suffocate and die. This has happened with stone, brick, dirt, grass, and glass blocks so far. I even just put one out on a grass plains area and it still clipped into the grass block below it at the moment of growing up.
