with the changes to rendering introduced in 26.1-snap7, chunk sections newly rendering cause severe lag and even hanging. before 26.1 chunk sections newly rendering would cause a minor amount of lag, but in 26.1 and onwards, the lag has been greatly increased for me, making going through portals or reloading chunks cause my framerate to drop to the low-single digits and sometimes even causing the game to hang for several seconds. i am using an nvidia gtx 1650 on arch linux. additionally, the game's behavior when stuttering now causes it to render a previous frame rather than holding the current frame, which may or may not be related. as of 26.2 snapshots, this happens on both vulkan and opengl.

here is a video demonstrating the issue by going through a few dimensions. this is not the worst the issue can be, but still demonstrates very clearly huge spikes in frametime that were not present for me in previous versions.

i have attempted changing some settings that may contribute to this, but anything i have tried has only made it worse, it seems my current configuration is the best this can get on this hardware. i used almost exactly these same settings in 1.21.9, .10, and .11, and this issue only started occurring once updating to 26.1.
Does this occur on a vanilla server? If so, please attach a video showcasing. Modified instances are not accepted

Can you record a video of the issue with Debug Screen and FPS + TPS (F3 + 2) enabled and upload it?
Can you provide logs and crash dumps? You can find them at %appdata%\.minecraft
Have you tried altering the in-game settings, such as graphics or performance options, to see if that resolves the issue?
