You can still swap the blocks inside of a sulfur cube whilst their TNT is about to explode

offhand a block and swap the flint and steel with the offhanded block and double click at the same time
this makes the sulfur cube stuck on Fuse: 0
if you try doing this without the offhand swap trick the block will turn into a ghost block
