Description:
Minecraft 26.2 is using LLVMPIPE software rendering resulting in extremely poor performance despite machine being equipped with an NVIDIA 5060 GPU as rendering is being offloaded to CPU. Previous frame rates in the range of 400FPS, now barely reaching 10FPS. Environment variables set to force GPU rendering, but minecraft still finds a way to use LLVMPIPE
Steps to reproduce:
Install Fedora 44 Plasma Edition
Install latest akmod-nvidia and xorg-x11-nvidia-drv from RPMFusion
Launch latest minecraft launcher from Mojang
Install and launch minecraft 26.2
Load a singleplayer world. Check F3 information. LLVMpipe is shown as GPU. Performance is pathetic. It does not matter if rendering is set to OpenGL, Vulkan, or default.
Install and launch minecraft 26.1
Load singleplayer world. Check F3 information. NVIDIA 5060 shown as GPU. Performance in range of 400FPS.
Every permutation of the following environment variables has been tried:

This appears to be a driver configuration issue with your system. Using OpenGL, the game has no control over what GPU is used. If the system selects llvmpipe this is a configuration on your system and not something the game can change.
When Vulkan is preferred, it is known that in some circumstances the game will pick software rendering (lavapipe) via VK over a dGPU via GL (MC-307991). In this case the log will give info on why the game made the choice it did.
Thank you for your report!
