Summary
The game instantly crashes and returns the player to the Minecraft Launcher when dropping a map that contains data (such as a filled map or a buried treasure map) from the inventory. This issue does not occur when dropping an empty map.
Steps to Reproduce
Open a world in Survival or Creative mode.
Obtain a Filled Map or a Buried Treasure Map (ensure it is not an Empty Map).
Open the inventory or hold the map in the main hand.
Drop the map on the ground (using the
Qkey or dragging it out of the inventory UI).
Observed Results
The game freezes for a split second, closes unexpectedly, and redirects the player to the Minecraft Launcher with a crash report.
Expected Results
The map should be dropped on the ground as a standard floating item without causing any instability.
Additional Information
Reproducibility: Constant (100% of the time).
Affected items:
minecraft:filled_map(both normal filled maps and explorer/treasure maps). Not affected:
